A bit about myselfFirstly the age thing - I'm 41, and closer to 42 than I'd like to admit. I'm an avid gamer and probably play way too much when a particular game takes my fancy. I love strategy games, and by that I mean proper strategy games of the like that Paradox produce e.g. see their Europa Universalis series for the true meaning of par excellance.
By day I'm a storage administrator. For those who aren't sure what I mean by that, it's someone who looks after the storage area networks (SAN's) for a company and makes sure that the correct disk space is assigned to the correct server in a large data-centre. In my youth I wrote strategy games for the early PC's and Commodore 64 as a hobby, then after graduating I began work as a Cobol programmer in the good old Mainframe days. After programming by day for a job, doing it for a hobby in the evening didn't seem so fun anymore and so as the windows era took off my own game writing pretty much dried up. After a few years I got out of Mainframes and into the universe of all things UNIX, again first as a programmer and then later as an administrator before specialising in SAN's. I'm one of those lucky people who actually likes what they do for a job.
My hobbies these days are spending too much time playing games like wow and extending the content of my oversized bookshelves with more and more novels mainly of the sc-fi and fantasy genra's.
My wow historyI've played wow pretty much since the day it was released in Europe. My first guild was MithrilGuard, formed with a group of online gaming friend (who included Dehn who is in your guild and a big reason I'm applying to join IAE). After a while the guild split, with those of us who wanted to raid a bit more seriously finding homes elsewhere. I joined Air together with Dehn. Air morphed into Inertia in the burning crusade, and when most of the leadership left to go play Horde I ended up picking up the pieces and running the guild for the next year together with a great bunch of guys, during which time we had lots of fun times and made great progress, the highlight being killing Vashj and almost getting Kael'thas just before the patch hit that opened up BT and MH. In early summer due to a mixture of work and being worn out from both raiding and leading a raiding guild I pretty much quit wow until now. When I stopped playing we had cleared upto Teron Gorefiend in BT and downed the first two bosses in MH.
Reasons for applyingWith WotLK approaching I'm playing again and looking for a home in the expansion. Inertia only exists now as an alts guild and Trivium (which was formed from the raiding arm of Inertia and Liberation after I stopped playing) doesn't fit my playing times and they also don't allow non-25 man raiding members, so although I have lots of friends in Trivium I am looking for a new home.
This brings me to you and the reason I'm applying. My good friend Dehn has been raiding with yourselves ever since Inertia went inactive and has nothing but good things to say about yourselves. He also says you have an IAE friend's rank for people who do not wish to raid 25 man content. I would like to join as an IAE friend. I haven't decided for sure if I do or don't want to spend the time required to raid 25 man content in the expansion. At the moment I'm thinking I'd like to beat the 10 man content and that I probably won't want to raid 25 man content, hence why I'm applying as an IAE friend. Of course I've been known to get sucked into raid in the past

.
A bit about my raiding experience:Pre-TBC I raided first with MithrilGuard clearing Molten Core, and then with Air clearing BWL and half of AQ40. During that time I played both a holy priest and a hunter, switching between the two depending on which was more needed. In TBC I raided pretty much exclusively with my feral druid Caswallon.
As a feral druid I tanked at one time or another pretty much everything. In SSC I was our frost phase Hydross tank (who says a druid can't create a crit immune frost or nature set!), and on Leotheras I was the guilds fire res tank. I also have a reasonable NR set but never had the need to use it, (and it's likely to get disenchanted any day now!!

)
Anyway I've probably said more than enough already so apologies for the long post and thanks for reading! If you have any additional questions please fire away!
