1 ) Personal information
Name: Kristian
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Nationality: Danish
2 ) Guild history. Tell us about your current and previous guilds / servers.
I'm currently in Evil Deeds, have had a break from WoW for almost a year, but before that I was in Emphasis back in TBC.
3 ) Why do you want to leave your current guild / left your last guild, may we contact them?
Well, I'm a bit tired of raiding Naxx and other stuff that can be pugged. I'm looking for a challenge - even though I must admit trying to down Thaddius with my current guild
can be a challenge.
4 ) List your raid experience on your main character and possible previous mains, where applicable (10/20/25/40 man):
- TBC Raids:
Karazhan, Magtheridon, Gruul's Lair, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, Zul'Aman, and a little Mount Hyjal..
- WotLK Raids:
VoA10/25, OS10/25, EoE10/25, Onyx10/25, Naxx10/25, ToC10/25 and half of Ulduar.
5 ) How long have you been playing your character?
I got this character from a friend when WoTLK was released and I realized I wanted to play again, but before that I also played a druid in TBC, mostly as feral though. And that character I played for about 3 years, where as I've only played this one since the release of WoTLK. Speaking of which.. no, I didn't choose this name.
6 ) Tell us about your spec! (Please include a link to your character's Armory profile.)
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Tarren+Mill&n=FreakshowetAs mentioned, I use to play a feral in TBC, so naturally that was my intention in WoTLK as well, and I started out that way. Soon, I began gathering healing gear, and had that as my 2nd spec. I realized that healing was a lot more fun, and if I wanted to PvP that would also be the way to go (Yes, I know feral/disc is awesome), but my PvP'ing was pretty gimped as I used my PvE resto spec. After a while when I hadn't touched my feral spec, I decided to go all resto, and that's where I am now. 2 resto specs, one for PvE and one for PvP.
Additionally, when I got this character handed over in level 70 it was resto, so I switched to Boomkin so I'd be able to use the restoration gear for leveling, seeing that the character didn't have much feral gear.
And that brings me to the conclusion: I've had my fair share of all the specs, tried and enjoyed them all, but none the less I've now decided to stay with one: Restoration, and I don't intend to change that. And yes, I see myself being restoration full-time.
Now for the spec explanation:
Most of the talents in the restoration tree is mandatory for any resto druid, so I don't see a reason to explain all my talent points, but I'll instead just jump to the explanation of why I didn't choose Nature's Swiftness. I had Nature's Swiftness for a long time, but recently I realized I didn't use it, and with Swiftmend there isn't really any need. The usual "wtf" button for resto druids is Nature's Swiftness + Healing Touch, but when that crits for 13k (because I didn't have Empowered Touch) and my Swiftmend crits for 16k with only 15 second cooldown, there wasn't really much reason to stick to it. Also, the recent changes to WoW appears to me like Blizzard just want druids to spam Nourish, Rejuvenation and Wild Growth. I didn't use to be such a huge fan of Nourish, but lately I've come to realize that if I wanted to stay on top of the meter, I have to use it (that also explains my Nature's Grace in the Balance tree). When looking at the t9.5 set bonuses, it's also obvious that Blizzard has a thing for Nourish - why they want us to be like paladins mindlessly spamming one heal I don't understand, but enough about that.
Anyway, removing the point from Nature's Swiftness and another pretty useless talent, I went with Empowered Touch. Mana isn't such a huge problem for me which is why I don't have Tranquil Spirit. Also, I have to give up a lot for that - the choice would have to be between Living Seed, Revitalize, and Gift of the Earthmother, and for now, I find these talents more useful. But if Blizzard suddenly changes something, I might as well consider Tranquil Spirit.
I'll try to log out in PvE gear, but I can't assure you'll be lucky enough to catch me in it, but just give me a whisper ingame if so.
7 ) Optional: can you provide us with a link to a WWS report that showcases your raid performance? (Preferably a WWS of a 25-man WotLK raid.) If your current guild doesn't use WWS, you can generate a report yourself.
I haven't raided with my guild for a quite a while and they didn't use WWS, so no, I'm afraid I cannot, but I'm usually on top healer in both 10 and 25 man raids.
8 ) What do you want out of this game?
Entertainment, socialization, something to kill the long, boring nights.
9 ) Why do you want to join IAE? What do you expect from IAE as a guild?
I expect mature, dedicated, and skilled players who realize that progress does take time, and simply acknowledge the fact that repairs aren't as cheap as they were back in the Vanilla days. I'm very dedicated and I don't have a problem wiping 20 times on a new encounter if that's what it takes - and I expect my guild to have pretty much the same opinion about that matter. Last but not least, I want people who I can casually spend time with on Ventrilo or Teamspeak, and not only during raid hours. Playing alone is boring.
10 ) Why should we recruit you? Aside the fact that we may need your class, why would we recruit you, what do you have to offer us?
A dedicated healer who knows what he's doing, who knows his class, and always is prepared and helpful. Additionally, you'll get a player who's patient, respectful, and able to discuss new tactics and approaches to encounters without everything turning into a "no u" flame war.
11 ) Who referred you to IAE, or how did you hear about us? Do you know anyone in the guild?
I just recently started doing 2v2 with Provien, and I asked about your progression and if you happened to be in need of a resto druid - luckily, you did!
12 ) What is your availability. Days and times which you are able to raid.
Most days from about 19 to 00 (I'm willing to stay up a little late some days, but generally I'd say about 12 o'clock). And that goes for every day in the week with the exception of Friday and Saturday (sometimes).
13 ) Extra information: any information that could be useful for us to process your application is always appreciated. Any relevant information you'd like to share such as professions, alts, or other gaming experience.
I think I've said pretty much all I need - I could go on, but this is already getting a bit long. Feel free to ask, however. If I'm not on Freakshowet I might be on one of my alts, Tooth (lv20 mage) or Florine (lv27 warrior).
